How To Get There

Train

CrossCountry trains serve Derby from various parts of the country. A direct service is available from London on the Midland Main Line, provided by East Midlands Trains . Lots of local services mean access from other cities is easy. The pub is about 300 yards walking distance from the railway station main entrance: go out of the station's main entrance, turn right, walk across the car park entrance and up to the main road, cross the road at the pedestrian crossing, turn right, follow this road parallel to the railway and the pub is on the left-hand side shortly before the junction.

Bus

Due to Bridge reconstruction work the usual buses are diverted and will NOT pass the venue. However there will be a shuttle bus between Riverlights Bus station and Derby Rail Station (Bay 11) every 15 min. Take this shuttle bus to the Calvert Street bus stop on Railway Terrace. This is across the road to the venue. The return trip is made from the stop right outside the pub. Take any bus from there to the bus station & get your coach. If anyone wants meeting off the coach then you are invited to send a Private Message the user 'derbybest ' to arrange this. You can also PM the same person if you want any local information.

Coach

National Express coaches use the new Riverlights bus station, so proceed as for local buses above. The local buses to the meet go from the same building. Please see section above on how to get there. If anyone wants meeting off the coach then you are invited to send a Private Message the user 'derbybest ' to arrange this.

Car

There is no parking at the pub itself however there are several short- and long-stay car parks within a mile of it - SatNav users are advised to use the postcode DE1 1RU. There is on-street parking for up to 4 hours in some of the streets close to the venue. If you're staying overnight then your hotel or B&B might have parking.

The Meet

Times

Those with laptops for use by the SimSig public, please arrive by 11:30, and register. Those without laptops, please wait until noon when (hopefully) everything will be ready.

Entrance Fee

The entrance fee is £7.95 if paid in advance and includes the buffet, manning of the upstairs bar, and any administrative fees. Payment on the day will be £10.00. Even if you wish to pay on the day, would you please sign up on the form in the Events Section so that we can order food for the correct number of people. When more people turn up on the day without booking, it reduces the food selection for those who were considerate enough to book up. We realise that some people may not be able to confirm until closer to the date but hope you understand the situation.

For those who do not like using the online Shop or PayPal (or both), a cheque will be acceptable. Please PM Postal if you wish to take up this option.

There is no entrance fee for those arriving after 2pm.

What's Included

Buffet lunch, shared access to multiplayer simulations.

Where To Stay

The Smart Aston Court Hotel is very close to both the railway station and the venue.

The Hallmark Inn is a short distance further than the Aston Court.

Please offer other recommendations if you know of further suitable accommodation.

=

Friday night

Please offer recommendations. Previous years have included a meal at a Mexican restaurant followed by drinks at one or more local pubs.

=

Saturday night

About half of those attending for the meet went on for a curry. More details to follow.

Sunday

There is no visit arranged to date.

Simulations In Use

With so many new and re-released sims the meeting was spoilt for choice. 2 sessions were run:

2) West Hampstead, test version of a 1991 TT from 58050, Pascal Nadin

What Actually Happened

A good time was had by all. Ken Otter (Tallington) has posted some photos on The Forum .
