Some signalboxes/interlockings have points which automatically return to their normal position approximately 7 seconds after a train has passed and the route locking has dropped away. No action need to be taken by a signaller as the interlocking is automatically providing protection for runaway trains.
In SimSig, these are sometimes marked with the letters 'SR' (for Self-Replacement).
