An emergency crossover GF.

When the train is in the correct position, release the GF and move both levers to reverse. The train will then move into/out of the sidings (there are no GF signals). Once the movement is complete, normalise the GF levers and lock the GF release.

A GF than is used for controlling locos running round via the headshunt.
This frame has 6 levers as follows:

• Lever 1 - King lever, reverse when GF release is given, to unlock the other signal levers;
• Levers 2,3,4 clear the signals on Arr/Dep lines 1,2,3 respectively;
• Lever 5 clears the signal on the run-round line;
• Lever 6 clears the signal on the head shunt for the return move.

Note that the points at the head-shunt end of the 4 lines are spring points, the loco returning from the headshunt can only move to the (top) run-round line.
As the frame is for local control, there is no interlocking between any of the signal levers.

The usual sequence of operation is:

1. release the GF, reverse the king lever #1, then reverse lever 2,3 or 4 as required;
2. when the loco is in the headshunt, put lever 2,3,4 normal, then reverse lever 6 to clear the HS signal;
3. once the loco is on the run-round line, put lever 6 normal, lever 1 normal, then the GF can be relocked.
