The simulation is based on Sheffield PSB, but also including the areas of Woodburn and Woodhouse Junctions.
Most of the traffic is passenger, which during the day operates on a standard clockface pattern. There are only a few additional services at peak time. Freight traffic is generally light, mostly passing through the area, mainly north to south, but with some services west serving the quarries in the Peak District. There are a number of steel mills which see a couple of services a day.
The simulation run in the modern era is a realistic depiction of the current network. The simulation also includes a 1980s era option. This sees all of Tinsley Yard connections open, as well as the original layout to the north. Because of the limitations of having two simulations in one, it hasn't been possible to make this era's layout 100% accurate.
Most of the regular traffic is concentrated on screens 1 to 4, with occasional freight services on screen 5 and an hourly passenger each way on screen 6. With a historic timetable, screens 5 and 6 will be a lot busier.
