SimSig is such a realistic signalling simulation that Railtrack, as they were then, bought an enhanced version of Didcot (Swindon B IECC) for use as signaller training. SimSig has continued since into the even-more-realistic simulation that it is today.
At SimSig we pride ourselves on attention to detail. While we may not produce many simulations, the ones you do get have been carefully researched and designed to be as close to the real thing as possible. This attention to detail means many hours has to be spent preparing and testing the data. For some of us this means spending a large part of our working day on SimSig and yet we have to feed, clothe, and house our families, so we have to ask for a payment fee for our time. Other companies charge more than SimSig, yet usually cover a much smaller area and have less attention to detail. We hope you understand why SimSig charges for some simulations - but note that many are, and for the time being will remain, free of charge. Donations are gratefully received though.
