I was walking down the steps in Meadowhall today on platform 2 waiting for my train to Adwick and there was a pacer to leeds at the station and about two trains being behind the train waiting to booked onto the same platform and i found out that the doors wasn't opening to let the passengers off and it was about half an hour later and the doors just randomly opened and there was about 10 trains behind it and unfortunately my pacer was the last one. That was really weird.

i thought the guard had access to an emergency door release that dumped all pressure in the doors and allowed them to be opened?

how do they get the doors open in an emergency otherwise

I dunno Conductor and Driver were on the phone to someone and walking up and down train. Then when doors opened everyone got off board and train went off.
