While I'm aware that the adverts help fund the upkeep of the website, and most of the time I simply ignore them, this one really concerned me. From a potential new user's point of view, the problem is hopefully obvious.

Presumably it's just the random advertiser's selection and there's nothing to do about it, but it does seem expressly designed to cause confusion.

I'm not surprised that particular ad may cause confusion, it is a bit deceptive/misleading.

I'm sure everyone would appreciate this particular one blocked and so with that in mind...

If I understand the Google AdSense settings correctly, whoever has access to the account (one assumes just Geoff?) would just need to login, go to AdSense Setup -> Competitive Ad Filter and enter the URL vgamenetwork.com which should rid of this particular one

Must admit I've seen this ad quite a few times but hadn't actually clocked that it could be confusing. Anyway, it should be gone within the hour. Thanks for pointing it out.

I'm not even sure what I'd be downloading. It certainly aint Simsig.

The problem is that ads are targetted so keywords like "download" (in the menu) are going to trigger adverts along those themes. Reminds me of a thread on a different forum where one particular advert was discussed and the more it was discussed, the more it came up along with related adverts. Something along the lines of bagpipes an ponies (don't ask).

Perhaps adding an 'Advert' banner above and below the advert box would solve the problem quickly and easily.

Or, just install Adblock on any web browser
