just having a quick play with lime street and noticed if i click just above the head of signal 55a, some points illuminate and flash (no physical point drawn, but the same image that would appear if i had keyed them.

can anyone explain?

The signal cursor that flashes whenever you start to set any route, perhaps?
That wasn't incorrect regulation - that was editing the timetable!

2. its miles away from the usual location

1) The signal head includes the space where a double yellow aspect could show (I think it's only a 3-aspect signal or something, but the signal heads are a generic SimSig feature).

2) It is by the track circuit break in front of the signal
