British Pathé is a newsreel film archive. Thought you might enjoy this selection: The Engine Driver (1947, b&w, silent) - from London to Manchester. Not much signalling but a charming movie. LNER Liverpool Street Station (1946, b&w, sound) - lever frames & phone calls Railway School (1940, b&w, sound) - railway school for army recruits during the war. Railway Signal School (1958, colour, sound) - Waterloo station and Clapham Junction Railway Signals (1953, b&w, sound) - demonstrates a safety warning invention Signal Box (1948, b&w, sound) - Waterloo Station Signal Women (1943, b&w, sound) - Saughall, near Chester, Cheshire Signals! (1936, b&w, sound) - Brighton signal box The Fog Fellow (1933, b&w, silent) - a dispenser for detonators! The Railway Today (1960, colour, sound) - Canterbury control room Underground School (1955, colour, sound) - LU Training Centre, Lambeth, London. original / cleaned negative Wealth Of The World - Transport (1947-1951, b&w, sound) - postwar modernization of transport Reel 1 / Reel 2 Note: These are all previews, many of which have been truncated, but plenty of interesting sequences nonetheless.
