I'm playing some North Wales Coast when I'm in North Wales, and I start the procedure for lowering Deganwy Quay, This is the sequence of events:

11:11 Deganwy Quay barriers are down
11:13 Crossing not clear
11:14 Deganwy Crossing barriers are down

Is there any way to disable the "CLR" button on Level Crossings that aren't clear as an indication that that specific crossing is blocked? This isn't specific to North Wales, but to SimSig in general.

I had to put back on the Branch train, and throw both sets of barriers up!

There are two things there.

First, the "Crossing not clear" message only indicates you haven't yet pressed the CLR button when trying to set a route across the LC. There's no need to disable the button ,esp. in times when you must press it.

Second, when there is genuine obstruction at the crossing, the message says "Crossing blocked by road vehicle" after you've pressed the CLR button. The theory is that while pressing a CLR button, you would IRL visually check the crossing is free. So again, the information about the blockage is only obtained when pressing the CLR button, so there's no need to disable it.

I'm confused as to why you put both sets of barriers up, all the "Crossing not clear" message is telling you is that you haven't pressed the clear button for a crossing and you've tried to clear DY6 or DY17.

DY16 and DY7 have the the standard "route not available" message as they also interact with the LC release on the block instruments.

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Is there a case for rewording it along the lines of "Crossing Clear release not given"?

It seems that there is some difficulty with the off-sim routing at Oxley.

I thought I had seen something on the bug tracker about this but cannot find it so I have logged it as Mantis 11815.
