With the Bristol re-signalling underway it go me thinking...

Another superb sim for both signal and multiplay but held back by its EXE nature. No need for a massive alteration for pre-2018 and I believe ARS has not yet spoiled the signallers workload.

Understand various obstacles sit in the way of getting these classic Sims moved over... I for one would love to see a Bristol loader version.

How long has ARS been in operation at Bristol then?

Also the other thing to remember with Bristol is any new version should have a third era without the St Andrews Crosses as they have been replaced this Easter with Mid Platform signals .

So you have the option of the existing 1980s, 1990s but also the 2018 layout with the added plus of the Filton Bank works IF research material for the latter is available as well as ARS

As far as I can tell the loss of the crosses at Tmple Meads is the only significant change. It would be far better to wait until any layout changes are completed,or data available, such as the quad tracking of the filton bank. As far as I am aware, the layout has remained the same.

Which is why I specifically mentioned the fact that any layout change such as the quad tracing of the Filton Bank once more depends heavily on the research material being available.

The other change is the was the downgrade of the speed limit within the station from 25mph to 10mph with no ARS within the station limits much like Birmingham New Street with zero-distance overlaps beyond the signals there with back to back signals so the loss of the St Andrews Crosses is only part of the overall works there this Easter.

And this is why I should read the whole post before commenting. Applogies

Actually like New St, or more like Leeds, in that the 10mph limit applies only between the start of the platform and the mid-platform signal when entering the station?

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

In the Bristol image posted; what are all the red hollow dots on the diagram? Axle counters?
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Are any of the Bristol suburban enhancements still going ahead, or are Bristol Council and Network Rail staying true to form?
