Issue with ARS - unable to make trains ARS 12/08/2015 at 11:23 #75036

Good day,

After watching a couple of episodes of The Tube I wanted to have a game of Victoria LUL. When I ran it last time there was no problem but now I can't get trains to become ARS.

Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if the sim is in a bad mood.

I canceled the TD and interposed it again putting only the main (i.e. V201) and the whole TD in (i.e. V201-1).
ARS pop-up information window showed "Not found in ARS" before I did the cancel and interpose bit. Afterwards it showed Non-ARS.

While searching the forum I found this thread:
http://www.SimSig.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=119&id=38201&Itemid=0#66308

Is there a possibility that with the updates to the loader (thinking about the ARS bit in the change log) the problem has recreated it self?

Loader: 4.5.3
Sim: 4.2 build 2
TT: Weekday, Sat, Sun V4.1 (tried them all, result is the same)

Thank you in advance for giving me some direction how to resolve the situation.

I'm not seeing any difficulty with Loader 4.7, except that the initial "BXxx" seeds at Brixton sidings come up as Non-ARS and so are not updated by ACI to their true starting headcodes. That's because on the main line, xXxx headcodes are reserved for out-of-gauge trains and ARS is unconditionally disabled for them - this logic appears to be hardcoded into SimSig.

To fix this, it's not necessary to cancel the original headcode. Just find out what the real headcode should be, and interpose it over the top.
