Was just testing out Brighton quickly as I've now finally been able to set up hosting thanks to Alan. And i noticed when a route has been reverted after a train passes over it. The point normalization alarm sounds, however does not end and keeps going until I set that route again. How can I stop this?

Thanks in advance

Joe

You need to manually put the points back to their normal position by clicking on them. Conversely, right clicking them will move them to the reverse position.

When indicated blue, they are manually locked in place, and will not swing when a route is set over them. Left/right clicking again will remove the lock.

Some points self-normalise; others flash to indicate to the signaller that they need to normalise them manually. After 20+ years in the railway business I'm still unclear as to why some regions prefer one style while others prefer the other.

I think it's called NIH (Not Invented Here). It's the same reason the Gas Works Railway never gave up droopy semaphores and insisted on turn-push NX panels (no TORR for their signalmen) while everyoone else went upper quadrant (and the LNER put the first routesetting panels into service while the LMS fiddled around with speed signalling). It's all supposedly completely standardised now. So they say...
