ARS - Why is it so!

I have 1E68 waiting at Sheffield's S79 Down Main to go into Sheffield platform 1B giving priority to 2B37 located at S BY1046 on the Penistone Single. Both trains are running to time.
2N30 is also waiting at Meadowhall for 2B37 to pass!

An ssg attached.
Loader 4.15.1

Is this same as: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/50746?postId=126715 where the timing to pass Wincobank matches the departure time at Meadowhall?

What is it with peoples reliance on ARS when they play a sim ??

Many of you appear to have forgotten that its an aid and not a replacement signaller.

Just signal the trains then.

I know nothing about how ARS works - I think Barry is asking "Why is ARS doing this?". Or to expand - is there a flaw in the ARS programming? If so is it a reflection of the original NR ARS (asssuming it is relevant to this era) or is it something in the SimSig ARS?

Many of you appear to have forgotten that its an aid and not a replacement signaller.
1) For those who do not wish to (or unable to) take part in a Multiplayer session, it is the only way they can enjoy one of the larger or more complex sims.

2) ARS is a signaller's aid not a replacement. However, if the ARS is consistently making the wrong choice for whatever reason it stops being an aid but becomes a hindrance. Everyone accepts that the ARS decision making is not perfect and that manual intervention is needed from time to time. However, I guess that if the real world ARS was persistently making an incorrect decision at a particular node then NR would expect the supplier to investigate and correct. ARS reports in SimSig by and large reflect the same process.
