Did a little sketch last night of the new layout with the new signalling plans. (Not 100% accurate but very close)

Out of interest who'd pay a small upgrade fee for a Kings Cross 2021 version? I think its one of the most popular sims and while i hope it gets updated i do actually think most would pay a small fee for an upgraded version. I could of course be wrong!

Heres how it could look....

I'd certainly very gladly have King's Cross as a paid sim if it meant we could have updates.

I wouldn't have any qualms about paying for an updated version. I'm assuming a 15 minute demo will be available, so people can try it before they buy.

Looks good too.

Not forgetting of course that the sim was only updated 12 months ago. It would just be nice to see the new version one day.... but I don’t think it should be expected as a free sim.

I don't see an entry point for "Canal Tunnels", are you misusing the Kings Cross Goods entry?

The Kings Cross goods entry when using the modern era simulates the entry point at the canal tunnels.

To avoid any confusion:

The entry point simulates the connection to HS1 at St Pancras. A number of TT developers have used it to represent the Canal Tunnels connection.

Not to mention the Thameslink Core (shown on the sim as the line to St. Pancras International) which would facilitate a chain with West Hampstead. That would require double-tracking of the St. Pancras International spur on KX but an update to WH also.

I agree with what has been said here about adding P5 at Stevenage as well as the revised layout at KX.

It’s a choice between misusing the goods entry, having a significant part of the timetabled service missing, or not having the timetable at all.

I think Sacros point was that the entry point correctly has a phone call as per real life, and the timetable is a workaround on an older layout, therefore the phone calls should stand.

Just one of those things to cope with if you're using the "wrong" layout for a timetable, similar to when older timetables are being written on newer layouts and a bit of fudging is required.

Indeed - my initial point was "tongue in cheek" and I fully expected a pedantic reply when I typed it, and wasn't disappointed!

Kings Cross PSB doesn't work with West Hampstead PSB. The Canal Tunnels (Bi-directional)are linked to Three Bridges ROC (TBROC) (Core Central Workstation) which covers Farringdon to Canal Tunnels (Kings Cross PSB soon York ROC) and Kentish Town (West Hampstead PSB). The Canal Tunnels opened after TBROC took over the Thameslink Core.

Could you tell what software you used to create this diagram please? I want to do a combined diagram of all the workstations at my place of work to show what is possible for an overview to my bosses.

The SimSig panel font and a text editor :)
Or use a word processor in web-view mode not page-view mode and have more control over the colours...

There used to be an app to simplify the process but it has been lost in the mists of time. See this topic.

I think if a 2021 era simulation was done then it won't be a simple upgrade but rather a brand new simulation which I believe has been mentioned before.

This new simulation would simple be called York ROC with the former Kings Cross PSB area divided into separate work stations as to the actual workstations I don't know if it's been a like for like move or not so I can't comment on that but like Rugby SCC, I think it be divided into either 3 smaller sims or it be the one simulation but with ARS added.

Don't forget that as well as the various changes at Kings Cross, you also have the resignalling of Hertford to Stevenage (including having 4 sidings showing up on the workstation where before it was simply a access/exit on the workstation), you have Platform 5 at Stevenage plus you have the Canal Tunnels all of which will take time to put together so if it was ever considered I think and I am guessing here, that it won't cost any less then a minimum of £20.

In any case, it's simply a case of wait and see because it may well be under development, who knows1!

I would also pay for an updated KX. It's also one of my favourite sims so would love to see it updated with the new layouts and connections.
