iam hoping a new timetable is being done for tyneside and edinburgh my favourite sims
cheers
mick
I have an Edinburgh 84 being tested now, chaining though is to CSCOT & Motherwell not southwards. As a 3-way chain it is a long job testing it.

Bill
The chainable CSCOT 1984 and Motherwell 1984 are now released. Edinburgh 1984 has a couple of gremlins to fix, and some breakdowns / failures to add before Edinburgh gets released as well.
Should be out early July.

Bill
At last Edinburgh 1984 is released - in November not July !
Spent far too long trying to add a couple of train failure scenarios while trying not to break ARS / ACI too much.

In between i have also done a refresh on Westbury 2007 'official' timetable which is now in for release with the sim. Fixes the noted timetable bugs and after more research a tidy up using decisions.

After that I am doing a [=== REDACTED ===] :-)

An update on timetables from me, not much writing and testing has been done since my last update due to other circumstances. Staffordshire Autumn 2021 timetable was recently released and also in the process of adding a new seeding time of 0500hrs. Both of the Manchester Timetables have been completed and tested but never got uploaded, I'll check over them then upload them. I have 4 new timetables planned and in writing for the Warrington PSB Simulation along with a Manchester North.

Completed and to be uploaded soon:
Manchester North - Autumn 2021
Manchester South - Autumn 2021

In the Works:
Manchester North - Christmas Eve 2021
Warrington PSB - COVID-19 Weekdays April 2020 - (Railways as they were during the first UK Lockdown, Freight from 24th March to 29th May 2020)
Warrington PSB - Christmas Eve 2021
Warrington PSB - January Sundays 2022
Warrington PSB - February Saturdays 2022

Planned:

Testing Phase:
Edge Hill - Autumn 2021 - (Timetable Delayed on Release pending info from freight drivers to add more to the timetable)
Rugby Centre - Winter 2021
Staffordshire Autumn 2021 - Version 2 adding in a new seed time of 0500hrs

Pending Simulation Updates Before Release:
Warrington PSB - Acton Grange Block 2019
Warrington PSB - Easter 2021
Warrington PSB - Summer 2021

Now that both the New Street & Coventry summer 1990 timetables have been released following the sim updates for both those sims I'm currently working on Wolverhampton summer 1990 TT which will also chain to Birmingham New Street. I'm hoping to get this completed by the end of the year so tersting on the chain between New Street & Wolverhampton can start at the begining of January, 2022.

I've heard rumours of a Saltley edition to this series but are there plans for an Aston version as this would keep captive a lot of the X-City MUs?

In Zone 6, no one can hear you scream...

Atm I'm working on Wolverhampton summer 1990 which will chain to New Street, but Aston is a non starter due to too many issues with the sim in this era. Originally Aston was going to be the first one out of the set, but I found some issues with the sim such as too many trains & not enough track to deal with them namely at Four Oaks, plus the missing platform at Lichfield Trent Valley HL. So that was abandoned. Yes there will be a Saltley summer 1990 TT written, but it won't be till next year at some point. I've already got at least 6 other new projects to finish next year so it could be 12 months away before Saltley gets off the ground. But thanks for asking.

Though obviously not chainable, it feels remiss not to mention Pascal's Saltley 1995-96 TT for those who aren't aware of it. I can highly recommend it: https://www.SimSig.co.uk/File/Details/847

Does Saltley not chain to New Street? Never knew that I thought it would have done.

The sims chain no problem. But while Saltley was mentioned, I though it was worth highlighting that a "heritage" Saltley TT was available, though being from a different year it of course won't chain to the New St one.

OK thx for clearing that up. You had me worried there a bit. On a slightly differenr note I've started updating my York North/South 1991 TT, then West Yorkshire 1991 TT so that I can start writing my Doncaster North 1991 TT which will chain to York North/South 1991 TT & so on incl. Doncaster Centre when that's released & Doncaster South. Plus some other new TTs for Cardiff PSB, Tyneside IECC &plymouth/Exeter & West Hampstead to name a few for 2022.

No there were 2 sdgs to hold units in until platforms P3 or P2 were free then a unit in the sdgs could come out & be platformed. The sim doesn't have the sdgs on it so they either stop on the line to Lichfield blocking any through service & there's no way of reversing them further down the line as they would then get in the way of services starting from Lichfield TV HL or Lichfield City. I've explored all these option to no avail hence the Aston summer 1990 TT can't be done until such time as the Aston sim has an update to incl the missing bit from this era. Something which is out of my hands.

An update on timetables from me. Now with the updated release of Warrington PSB Sim, I was able to upload two out of the three timetables I made. The Summer 2021 will follow soon after a quick few amendments. Unfortunately I having to step back for a couple of weeks following my operation on the 3rd December 2021. I'm only putting a couple of hours into Manchester North and Warrington PSB Xmas Eve 2021 timetables. Full service will resume in January when I actually have my left arm back to help me.

Completed and to be uploaded soon:
Manchester North - Autumn 2021
Manchester South - Autumn 2021
Rugby Centre - Winter 2021
Staffordshire Autumn 2021 - Version 2 [Added 0500hrs Seed]

In the Works:
Manchester North - Christmas Eve 2021
Warrington PSB - Christmas Eve 2021

Planned/On Hold:
Warrington PSB - January Sundays 2022
Warrington PSB - February Saturdays 2022

Testing Phase:
Edge Hill - Autumn 2021
Warrington PSB - COVID-19 Weekdays April 2020

I'm writing a 2021 timetable pack for the much under loved Chicago Loop.

Since writing my 2017 one I've come up with a few ways to improve on it and take advantage of new timetabling features.
In 2017 I set a hard departure time from stops in the loop, which meant if you signaled trains in in the wrong order, they'd get hung up on each other and complain about being held at signals, which with the reactive 'first come - first serve' way that this sim is signaled it really detracted from the experience. So I'm using set down only (brief/mode 2) with dwell times to keep the trains in the loop moving.

With the crashy nature of my current computer (regular BSoDs - I should really fix that at some point), and the unique repetitive & metro nature of ChicagoL I have written a batch script to help me write the timetable outside of SimSig and not loose progress. This script has allowed me to incorporate some more features to add a bit of interest to the timetable - each train's dwell time at each station is randomly generated from a defined range that is unique to each station. Based upon the yearly passenger numbers I've weighted each station's dwell range based upon how busy it is.
Peak and Off Peak trains have different lengths (peak trains double in length) which increases the time it takes them to clear the junctions, increasing the chance of conflict, which in my opinion makes the timetable more engaging. Also dependent on the peak I've increased the dwell times (the theory being if there are more people about they get in each others way more when detraining and boarding, thus increasing dwell)

I've changed how the headcodes are displayed; in 2017 I used the bundled sample timetable as a big influence using the route prefix of G, P, O, B, U, K, M and a 3 digit train ID number (using 1xx & 5xx for the two green directions), For this timetable the headcode is now the full route colour GreenN, GreenS, Orange, Pink, Purple & Brown, which are cut down to fit into the 4 character pad at the signals, but still appear in full in the F2 train list. Making it easier to quickly identify the approaching train. Trains are differentiated using the UID Using GN, GS, O, P, U, B, K & M with a 4 or 5 digit ID number to form a 6 character UID for each train - helping to tell them apart in debugging. The K & M routes are the few (6 each way) routes in the peaks that enter as either brown or orange and exit the loop as the other. This increases the theoretical maximum unique UIDs that can exist in a single timetable opening up the opportunity for a Project X esc 'chaos' timetable where I throw a ridiculous number of trains into the loop and hope for junction conflicts.

Considering that sim era being 2014, and two of the stations have now closed (Madison/Wabash 2015 & Randolph/Wabash 2017) and been replaced by a centralised Washington/Wabash in mid 2017. I have chosen to treat Madison/Wabash as OOU and use Randolph/Wabash as a substitute for the new Washington/Wabash

I'm now investigating using decisions to bundle multiple timetable variants into one timetable, such that a decision is made at the start of the timetable that picks a random day of timetable dwell variations, meaning on two plays of the timetable, the chances of getting the same junction interactions is lower, preventing it getting as stale as fast

Should I feel particularly self-loathing, I'm considering creating a 'Friday 13th' timetable variant using a butt ton of decisions to add a scaled down 'Gremins at Work' level of delays (increased dwell times) and simulated reduced power (by capping train max speed, acceleration type and weight) without the failures that'd render this sim unusable very quickly.

With the fact I've created a script-based XML generator for the sim, I don't think that these two additional goals are too ambitious, but am mindful of scope creep.

Tl;dr I'm making a set of 2021 timetables for Chicago Loop, with features I think are cool but most people will probably not care about. And a few silly variations for myself because I thought what if

-RFW

Mods, let me know if I need to trim & relocate bits of this to a better board

The train now standing on platform 2, should be on the rails

Would one of the moderators be kind enough to remove version 1 of the timetable from the download area please.
You can always click 'edit' on your original TT in the downloads section and upload your revised one that way to replace the original.

First post for 2022 and an update for where I am on timetables. It seems to me that I have more information for Warrington PSB Timetables although they are modern e.g., 2019 onwards. Recently I browsed though an external HDD and came across information, allocations for one of Arriva Rail Northern strikes on 2nd February 2019. I have since made a timetable on this and currently evaluating it to see if it is worth an upload.

Completed ready for upload:
Manchester North – Christmas Eve 2021

In the Works:
Warrington PSB – January Sundays 2022
Warrington PSB – March 2020 (last Saturday before first UK Lockdown)

On Hold:
Edge Hill – Autumn 2021
Warrington PSB – Summer 2021

Planned:
Staffordshire - April Saturdays 2022
Warrington PSB – March Saturdays 2022

Testing Phase:
Warrington PSB – Christmas Eve 2021
Warrington PSB – February 2019 – Northern Strikes

Manchester Piccadilly 30th December 2017 (South) has been updated to be compatible with the latest version of Piccadilly, as well as now being ARS compatible (although I advise not using it due to the nature of this TT).

This TT had platforms 9-14 closed (see attached image) however I haven't put any blockers in to enable players to use the platforms if they so desire as it does get rather fraught at times (which was true to life for the day with queues all the way from Slade Lane through the day!).

Currently awaiting approval. I'm going to have a look at the 'Full' to see if I can bring it up to the current standards for ARS but it may be a bit more complex.
