Not sure if this one is actually a bug, or just me doing the reversing wrongly.

But I had a train in Eastfield TMD to go to COWLAIRS WEST (REV) then back to BISHOPBRIGGS.

I set a route through CC531 -> CC535. The train description stepped up to CC535 ok.

When I set a route from CC534 the berth next to CC534 immediately went to **** (and the correct headcode, 5B05, remained at CC535).

However the train did correctly reverse..

I think is is likely to be user/player error as I believe Cowlairs West (Reverse) is actually the passing loop (upto Signal CQ241 to turn around then 'depart' from Signal CC240) although in theory it should work at also CQ53 / CC238 and CQ245 / CC52.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Looks like a particular move I did not envisage when writing the stepping code. Added some stepping code but due to the layout it is not 100% certain to work in every eventuality.

Cowlairs West Rev is inter alia immediatly behind 534, what I had not envisaged was getting a train there by signalling across the main line; possible not a recomended routing but a valid one none the less.

Thanks UKTrainMan - that does indeed seem a more sensible place to reverse trains.

And thanks Peter, too. Although I'm unlikely to repeat that particular move if I can help it...

However, later on with the same train I had another problem. The end of its timetabled route was:

Cadder
LENZIE
CROY
GREENHILL UPPER JN
GREENHILL LOWER JN
CARMUIRS WEST JN
CARMUIRS EAST JN
GRANGEMOUTH JN
POLMONT JN
Bo'ness
LINLITHGOW
WINCHBURGH JN

Unfortunately I sent it the wrong way, via Falkirk High (which was accepted with no complaint).

It turns out that the 'next location' was set to Greenhill Lower Jn after I passed Greenhill Upper Jn, and remained there.

Eventually, the train passed Linlithgow and accelerated up to 100mph towards Winchburn Jn. Then, oddly, it slowed to a halt after passing signal EW606.

At that moment, F2 changed from showing Up/Linlithgow to Down/Stopped at Greenhill Lower Jn' (???).

The train then started moving again (in the wrong direction on the Up line), filling each berth it passed with '****'. Eventually it was stopped by the (hidden) GF1 signal.

I guess this is related to the problem in http://www.SimSig.co.uk/index.php?option=com_agora&task=topic&id=1355&Itemid=54.

And finally: I sent a train from Gartcosh CN436 to MG930 towards Gartsherrie South Jn. When the front of the train occuipied TC T2718, the headcode stepped from CN436 to MG930 as I'd expect. However, when the rear of the train cleared the same TC, '****' mysteriously appeared in the Gartcosh siding berth.

Shortly afterwards the train started moving Down with the next location advancing to 'Carmuirs West Jn'. It filled all the berths it passed with '****'.
The first bit has since been fixed but I don't follow the second bit. Are you saying that the train reversed of it's own volition? If it did then had the timetable failed to step at some point earlier in its travels and you ended up with a 'Winchburgh' scenario (as above).

No, nothing untoward happened with the train - just the **** headcode appeared in the siding for no discernible reason.

Sorry, post got a bit muddled - I thought I'd deleted the last sentence. It was related to the previous problem at Winchburgh Jn. Post editted.

The saved game may explain it better: http://www.yadt.co.uk/~davidt/SimSig/SnapshotAt0600.ssg - just watch Gartcosh Jn immediately after it starts.
