Hi all, just having a go at this sim and surprised how compact it is compared to my current favourites of Pbroro and Cambridge. It might just be the one to get me used to scrolly sims.

You may note that Southampton does not have any workstation divides as it is all one workstation. This should tell you that the area is easily managable with one person.

There is enough traffic to keep a person on their toes on Southampton, but my recommendation is that you try Gloucester. There is more stuff to do and its not that big in terms of size, so is easily managable for solo play.

The dev of Westbury didn't have a lot of time any more (that would be me...) so Peter had to take over (of which I am very grateful). I did see some testing going on for a new version of Westbury, so the sim hasn't been forgotten.

no more major than the problems experienced with wrong routes on south humberside but thats still on public release.

im not sure why you quoted me on not knowing about any major flaws? i didnt know there was a problem with chaining, hence why i said im not aware of any major flaws

Westbury scrolly was once available, Version 2.123 (I know because I had downloaded it and still have it to this day and very moment) then it wasn't available, then it was made available again but Version 2.102. Still, is a great solo simulation and a neat multi simulation too!

Getting into Southampton and loving it. Very manageable for single player and a good intro to scrollys.

Hopefully one little issue is sorted by that I mean being unable to signal any trains out of Merehead as the arrow above the Whites Crossing Siding is not viewable in the paged version.

The paged version by the way is the one that is currently available under downloads.

This is how trains enter Merehead, Tim.
I've included the quote above to show exactly where I mean, I'm using Vista 64 and don't have issues with the other sims apart from Cambridge in multi player mode in full screen.

on some of the older paged sims the arrows arent visible, they are there however so you can still route to them, u either have to know where they are or have a click in the dark til the route sets

If you are using Vista, the missing triangle is a known problem. You can find out more by searching the Forum and the Wiki. As the missing triangle is a result of the way that the Vista and SimSig graphics management conflict, the underlying code is still active. If you click where the triangle should be, the route should set for you.
