I have no doubt as to the accuracy of the sim, but find one thing odd.

Generally, it is not allowed for a call-on route to be set into an occupied platform with the exit signal cleared.

Haywards Heath Platform 3 has signal T340 as its exit signal in the Up direction. There are several trains booked to join in this platform. I would have thought that there would not be a call-on route from T348 to T340 due to the automatic exit signal, but the route does exist, and T348 will clear it's subsidiary aspect irrespective as to what aspect T340 is showing.

Is this standard Southern Region practice?

It's just the practice of the time. (prior to Newton Abbot and Huddersfield)

If it were re-signalled today they would probably make the exit signal controlled to overcome this problem.

It's an unusual situation to have even the option of an auto in such a place - most layouts have pointwork at either end of such a layout. My informant hasn't said it's wrong so I hope it's right.

I could only find one other possible place where this happens, on the Gatwick sim, but unconfirmed.

As a driver on Southern Railway who joins trains regularly at Haywards Heath i can confirm that T340 signal does show one yellow when a train is called on in the rear. It also happens with T338 on P4
