No,I wasn't signalling trains into the neck. I'll try that next time.

I think I was pretty unlucky really in that on two occasions Daw Mill called in with a train (which I was happy to accept) just at the point that trains were entering the reception sidings. I suspect that if I rerun the sig now that won't happen.

Anyway, as I said, an excellent TT.

Just a quick query Pascal. I notice that 6V27D has a destination of Morris Cowley but is routed down the Lickey when it comes out of Longbridge. I have a sneaky suspicion that this might be the return empties for Swindon Rover as it's routed Gloucester rather than Leamington. Of course I could stand corrected

I'm not saying what you are suggesting is wrong Moonraker. I've only copied whats in the freight WTT for that period.

The only references I can find to this train by doing a bit of digging on the net is a 10.35 departure from Longbridge to Swindon Rover (Car Panel Empties) in 1995 which does seem rather strange as the one in the 95/96 Saltley TT is an early morning train although I do seem to remember from my time shunting at Swindon in '88/'89 that there was an early morning arrival back from Longbridge with the empties. We used to pull the vans (Then VGA's) round to the sidings via Highworth Junction. Run round to the rear and then help the little Rover loco by unofficially banking the train as it was on quite an incline to enter the works sidings. Good old days

ultimately this all comes down to taste. the main thing is that the train is present. the taste issue lies in whether you prefer errors to be present as per the real thing, or edited out via testing.

When I worked in FGW Train Planning in Swindon for a while I found the printed NR WTT's to be full of printing errors. Apparently something which has gone for a good while and is still not corrected much even now.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I noted that 5H66 0443 Tyseley-Stour Town is in the timetable as a 156.

I would have thought this was a 153?

Anyway, in addition - thanks so much for another stunning timetable. I am having such a good time!

At a minimum, it needs the 'Tyseley CS' locations re-entering for all trains, as the internal code changed on the update, there may be other things broken as well.

I believe Pascal has an update in progress, but he's been working on the Salisbury 1980s TT at the same time, and possibly other things.

Steamer PM'd me about a month back asking the very same question. I told him yes I wanted to re-write this timetable in UID format & also with 'alternatives'. Having finished writing & tsting Salisbury summer 1988 tt & also another summer 1988 tt, I have been for the past fortnight re-writing parts of the Carlisle 1979-1980 tt which I hope will be finished at some point this week for testing to re-start ready for Tom to release this on Loader V4 format. I've also got to finish off a summer 1988 Leamington Spa tt which is about 85% complete now. Just the MoD trains to add & test the tt before that can be released. I've got about a dozen projects on the go at the moment, some for developers & some Im doing for me. Give me a fortnight to get Carlisle & Leamington Spa sorted out & then I'll start on Saltley. How's that.

I've gone through all the ECS workings at Tyseley and all that's missing is the destination on all the ones which terminate at the TMD or go to the neck and back in after going to the CWM. I've added the missing locations to see if this is ok. Will report back.

I'm actually working my way through this tt as we speak. Due to the number of people requesting this timetable to be able to run on loader(which surpsrised me) I started converting this timetable over to UID format as well as carrying out some edits & additions last Friday. So far I've done all the Cl.0s, Cl.1s & I'm about half way through the Cl.2 at the moment. At some point this week there may well be a multi-player test session on this tt when I've completed it. So watch this space.

Why are you surprised? Although I normaly enjoy the 80sh tt's more, the 1995-1996 tt is of excelent quality with lots of regulation to sort out :). Much more fun as the clockface timetable of it's neigbour (new street).

Better start increasing the meds again to cope with your great TT's

The reason I'm surprised is because the majority of the times I've seen the sim hosted on multiplayer they tend to run the modern era tt. Like you I prefer the 1980s & 1990s as opposed to the modern era & I know this 1995-1996 tt takes a bit of mastering. However the next release should be alot better as there are rules/UIDs in place so the trains that are booked to run on certain days will only appear on those days. Come to think of it this tt was written a long time abo before we started doing rules on days of the week running. I think the tt was originally written using the '%' of appearance as that was the best remedy at the time for e.g. 20% = 1 day of the week, 20% = 2 days of the week, 30% = 3 days of the week & so on, but in reality it doesn't work on you want it to. It was always something I wanted to do & if it hadn't of been for those person posting on the forum recently asking about this tt I don't think I would be doing it right now. Glad to see there is still a following for this kind of tt.

The missing locations are being added as I check each train in the timetable & add in the UIDs. With regards to the LSFP movements will be completely re-written with a proper TD this time providing I can ascertain the TD for the Lawley Street FLT pilot.

My sentiments exactly. We seem to be an ever smaller band of people as the majority of sims I see hosted tend to be running the 'modern' era timetables. Talking of hosting I spoke to Kev(KmriskaDraken) yesterday if he would host a test session of this timetable once I've finished converting it to run on Loader V4 & he is happy to do so, except this time it will be by invitation only so we don't get a repetition of when Kev hosted the KX summer 1985 timetable I'm also writing. So anyone whose interested in participating send Kev a PM to say you are interested. Although prior notice will be advertised on here.

Always enjoy your TT's Pascal, If I had the info I'd write some for that era on the Southern sims, but as it's harder to come by I write 2012 ones

So far as I can tell with the addition of the missing locations the timetable seems to work fine on the new loader version now

Some heritage TTs, whilst they make great single player timetables, aren't as good for multiplayer. For example, Bristol 1985 is an excellent single player TT, but if you were running in MP you'd have a very busy signaller at Bristol handling all the shunts, while everyone else sat around with only two or three trains on their panel. With a modern TT, everyone is kept reasonably busy.

That is quite true, but I wouldn't have used the Bristol 1985 timetable as an example as it is accurate. The Cl.6 freights have a maximum speed of 65mph where they should be 60mph & the platforming of trains at temple meads isn't accurate either as I've looked through my 1985 copy of the station working book & the platforms allocated to trains in that tt don't match the book. I would have said the Carlisle 1979-1980 tt is a much better example where the signaler working the panel covering the station area is alot more busy than the signaler covering the area between carnforth North Jn. & Carlisle station. That said it really depends on the area covered by the PSB involved. Timetable written for the 1970s, 1980s & probably up to around the year 2001 would be very busy in terms of freight & trip workings. Although Trip Workings finished as though of us who were around in BR days saw them around 1994. The last Trip Notice I've got is a 1994 Notice covering Worksop & Toton. However following the privatization of the freight companies around 1995 produced an increase in freight traffic on the railways & as a result the number of trains being run was higher so in timetable terms generated a bit more of an interest & challenge despite the continual decline of loco hauled passenger & mail trains. I tend to try & stick to the BR period, but as mentioned earlier the data you need in terms of publications covering the 1970s, 1980s & 1990s is getting harder & harder to obtain & that's probably why no other timetable has been written to chain with Saltley 1995-1996 tt.
