Hello all,

I am currently working on a timetable from the SSS 2012 gala, but I require some advice on stock and loco movements.

  1. Where do the locos go whilst waiting for their next working at Llangollen?

  2. Where is the stock stabled/come from first thing in the morning? I've got 5 sets on this timetable - A,B & C ordinary passenger sets, an autotrain and a goods train.

If anybody could help, I'd be most grateful. Thank you in advance!

Regards
Callum

Locomotives stabled in either the Up or the Down headshunt at Llangollen station in between workings. (AndrewG) may be able to advise a bit more as I know he worked station box during the event.

One set of coaches would be stabled in Platform 1 overnight. Two sets in River siding. The auto train was stabled at Pentrefelin yard for the start of service on day one, and was stored at the loco shed on the other days. The freight stock was stabled at Pentrefelin yard throughout.

Thank you for that headshot119. I presume the train engine goes into River siding, drags the set out and runs round via the UDM? Or is there a station pilot duty?

Rather than running around they would just propel into Llangollen station, with the locomotive still at the Carrog end of the train.

The freight would be different as the locomotive would already be at the Llangollen end with it coming out of Pentrefelin.

Which day of the event are you doing?

I wasn't sure if that was permitted or not! I would like to get it correct though.

I'm doing Saturday 21st at the moment.

Is definitely permitted, it saves time having to do two run rounds to get a set into service, it also allows a set of stock to be brought out of river when Goods Junction is switched out of circuit, as it would be on say an A timetable (One Train in Steam).

I look forward to seeing it when it's done, will be interesting to see how well it works in the sim.

[Veg]And people won't see me say this publicly very often but it was nice to get some haulage behind Tornado and Britannia.[/Veg]
