I elected to do a fresh reinstall of my computer, operating system and all apps, overlooked the fact that I should have released the SimSig licences from my machine. Please could you reinstate my licences so that I may operate in other than demo mode.

To speed up the process highlight each license in turn in the license manager, then click request unlock.

Just in case this thread isn't seen.

I have done the same and been a complete idiot... Been off this for a bit since my holiday and forgot I have to take them off If anyone can help, have clicked the re-allocate licences

Now my PC's died, new build is up and running so when you chaps get a chance the unallocate-reallocate has been requested. Cheers!

If you've requested an unallocate and not heard anything within a few days then post here, otherwise have patience, the development team do have personal lives!

Thank you very much Geoff for the usual sterling service!

@ WelshD - I know and wouldn't have bothered the chaps but the old PC died (fried MB) with the licences allocated and I wasn't quite sure how else to proceed without help, and as an old engineer, if in doubt I tend to ask

In my experience, the unallocate is usually done very quickly without any chasing, certainly it's always been within a day for me (not that I make a habit of it) - from my perspective, that's a perfectly reasonable turnaround for something which doesn't happen too often.

Hi there,

I also recently had to reinstall my computer. I have had one licence reallocated (Cowlairs) to my computer through the Licence Manager. Will it be OK to submit requests for my other two licences to be reallocated as it says this feature cannot be used multiple times.

That's fine James. It's referring to asking for the same license over and over again, rather than the situation you describe.

Hi there,

I've had a hard drive fail in my laptop. I have requested license unlock in the License Manager. Do I have to make a seperate request for every Sim I've purchases or will the one request cover them all.

rather bump this thread than create new as I have the same issue, However I have selected all sim s to try and deallocate from previous machine so I can allocate to the new one, however I think waiting 28 days is a bit much and I'm not 100% sure its worked anyway as there is no confirmation that it has been successful, hope someone can help its been a while since I played any of my sims and I am itching to get back into it.

Have you installed the Loader. The Loader is all that is required to setup and run the sims. You can allocate your licenses using the Loader.

Check your license manager they are all ready to reallocate.

Reformatted and sold my machine a while back completely forgetting about the license.
