Does anyone know where I can find Saturday unit diagrams for FGW? Alternatively, does anyone know what tends to work the Swindon-Westbury services and the various Gloucester/Bristol/Great Malvern- Weymouth/Warminster/Southampton services? Am I correct in thinking that all Cardiff- Portsmouths are 3-car 158?

Are you talking about the current or past timetable?

The rest of the week could potentially be useful for other TT developers, or indeed any diagrams or CWN's... :whistle:

Swindon - Melksham is usually a single 153 that splits off a working from Gloucester in the morning. Bristol - Westbury - Weymouth corridor is a mix of 15x units. Cardiff is generally the preserve of the 158/9s, but the 3car 150s do venture out that way

Generally speaking, services around Bristol consist of:

Great Malvern - Gloucester - Bristol - Westbury - Weymouth - Typically 150 with sometimes 153's attached
Cardiff Central - Bristol - Portsmouth - Almost always 158 - Only ever seen a 150 coupled on once
Cardiff Central - Bristol - Weston SM - Taunton - 15x timed for 75mph, but do from time to time see a 158

Hope this helps

James

At least on a Friday, unsure on the rest of the week, the 1O98 1050 Gt Malvern - Brighton is a 159. Works off of 2E17 from Warminster and I believe takes a piggy back ride on the 0602 Salisbury - Westbury.

FGW are currently hiring in a 3/159 & a 2/158 from SWT to provide additional seats on other services throughout the Bristol area. The 159 & 158 arrive at Westbury by way of 2C04 06:02 SAL-WSB, usually dragged there by the Cl.150 off 2O01 (05:24 WSB-SAL).

The Cl.159 then goes on to work;
5E17 06+53 Westbury - Warminster (SX)/5E17 06+52 Westbury - Warminster (SO)
2E17 07:23 Warminster - Great Malvern
1O98 10:50 Great Malvern - Brighton (SX)/1O99 10:46 Great Malvern - Brighton (SO)
1V96 16:59 Brighton - Bristol Temple Meads(SX)/1V96 17:00 Brighton - Bristol Temple Meads (SO)
1O86 22:23 Bristol Temple Meads - Salisbury (with the unit off 1V62 2057 SAL-BRI)

plus any associated ECS moves required at end points to facilitate the next working.

Okay so this is the former ex SWT 158 diagram. Where does the 158 now go?

From a set of unit allox I have for Westbury for 02/08/14 (I have done a T/T due to HST diversions).

158888 did the following;

2V16 06:03 Salisbury - Westbury (with 150128 & 159002)
2M10 08:22 Westbury - Swindon (via Melksham)
****
2M24 20:01 Cheltenham Spa - Westbury (via Melksham)
1O86 22:23 Bristol Temple Meads - Salisbury (with 159003)

I was at work that day, I believe it stayed on the "Golden Valley" between Swindon & Gloucester/Cheltenham Spa,
which seems to be the standard diagram for the unit.
