Chaining to Westbury: W308 anomaly 17/05/2015 at 11:33 #72340

I ran a brief session with Salisbury (1980TT) chained to Westbury (no TT). Why would I do that? Don't ask.

Since then, I've returned to playing Salisbury 80 stand-alone (EXCELLENT sim/TT, by the way, Andy) and now every train that enters at Warminster is held at signal W308 which is at Red. As a result, I have to ASPAD every train that enters there. Further to that, any new game of Salisbury started from scratch gets plagued with the same problem.

Just to add to your frustrations, Andy.

PS: Waiting eagerly for the era glitch repairs to be released so I can shunt Dinton. :-) I'm not going to ask the forbidden question.

Can reproduce when chain ended but not if you relaunch the Sim. When you say "new game" that must mean relaunching the sim and it makes no sense that that could be an issue.

My copy of Salisbury data (July 2014) has no W308 in it so Andy must have added that more recently, certainly not used in chaining on Westbury.

Just to clarify, yes, I mean relaunching the sim completely from start - even with a different TT.

Which presumably means you can never play the Sim again!

I'm a very patient man, Peter! Of course I can play again. It just means I have to ASPAD every train that leaves Westbury. What I have been doing to avoid delays is using the F11/Trains command "Pass next signal irrespective of aspect - keep going" as soon as a train bells on at Warminster. What I might try next is reinstalling the game. That *should* fix it (unless I get home to find Andy has released the latest fixes). :-)

Andy has done an absolute corker of a job with Salisbury. I'm not going to let a little thing like this prevent me from enjoying the game! :cheer:

Matt.

Since my last post, I have come home and uninstalled/reinstalled Salisbury and the glitch is now history.

Prior to uninstalling the sim, I saved the .ssg files in a backup folder. Once the sim was reinstalled, I tried a brand new game started from scratch (relaunch) using 2000 era and the 2009 TT. It worked fine. I then loaded a saved game and the bug returned - trains stopping at W308. On this occasion, however, when I relaunched the sim with another brand new game, the bug did not reappear.

Attached are the save files - one for each era.

[Edit]
As for reproducing the glitch, do you want me to redo what I did to cause the fault in the first place?

It might help. I can reproduced the error when the chain was first broken but not the on-going problem, that's the bit that seems odd.
