Good. A Thursday evening, and not a pub night.

25th is Friday...

(This is exactly why this shouldn't be posted until the day)

How would me posting this in advance cause him to get the dates wrong?

So why do we ask for the date in the title? :doh

It doesn't, but it can cause confusion as to what sessions are running, when sessions are running and is liable for deletion.

Sorry so having the date in the post doesn't make it clear when a session is being hosted! :doh :doh :doh

Early notice is also good, hosting a payware chain gets a better response with some notice. Whereas last night I put a West Country chain up and had a full house within 30 minutes.

What?!

For the record: Advance notice of hosting is welcomed, encouraged even, and will not be deleted until some time after the hosting date specified

Perhaps the rubric at the top of the topic should ne edted to reflect that.

From a personal point of view, I prefer advance notice being posted in the "Hosting General Topics" area of the forum, and when the session is about to be hosted a post can be made in the "Session Details" area of the forum.

The only potential for confusion I see is the "deleted within 7 days" which I've clarified to mean the date of the host, not the post.

That doesn't make sense because sessions posted a (insert made-up timeframe here) time before the host would appear in one forum section, while other sessions posted (a shorter-than-the-above-made-up-timeframe) time before the session would appear in a different section. And no, I'm not going to move stuff over when it's within (a made-up timeframe) of the session start time!

And don't forget timezones if considering a (made-up timeframe).

Since it seems possible to change ticks to crosses when a session is on/over, maybe we could use one of the other symbols to indicate advance notice and change it to tick when the session starts.

Suggest the light bulb - for no particular reason.

I've changed the current one to see what it looks like - think it'll work. But it will rely on people co-operating.

What about adding a note saying something like "It is suggested that you use the hosting template in the body of your message"?
