Wimbledon District Line platform allocations 23/10/2015 at 17:24 #77181

Hello all,

I've just noticed flicking through the District Line WTT for Sunday, there's no platform allocations at all at Wimbledon. I tried looking on RTT but there's no platform data there either. I've noticed there's platforms allocated for the default Wimbledon TT, is this from something or is it guesswork?

Do they actually have platform allocations there or do LU services just use any platform that doesn't have a train in it?

Any help appreciated!

James.

Default Wimbledon TT platform allocations were educated guess based on observation. Off-peak the service runs off 1&2, then as the service increases 3 and then 4 are brought progressively into use. 2 appears to be the preferred platform if it's free, then 1, then 3 then 4. Allocating platforms along those rules produced no conflicts in the throat for default TT.

Thank you James, much appreciated!

I'd imagine a max of 3 platforms being used on a Sunday, I might have to examine the OTT map to see what pattern emerges.

Thanks again

For 2012 (weekday)the service pattern seems to have increased since the default 2009 as I found that to prevent the incomings being delayed most of the 4 platforms were needed in the off peak too. You could probably squeeze into 3 if you want about a minute delay. Shouldn't be such a prob on a Sunday for you though.

ps this is just from testing in the sim and the WTT - if I'd known Wimbo was in the pipeline at the time I would have paid more attention when I was changing from the tram lol
