Following on from my Weekday timetable here is a Sunday Timetable for Shrewsbury which is based on workings from a Sunday in late August 2016.Timetable data taken from RealTime Trains, headcodes are taken from the Network Rail WTT.

--Timetable Notes---
Please note that only Class 158 DMU's or Class 97 locomotives are allowed onto the Up/Dn Welshpool as they are the only things fitted with ERTMS.

---Service Pattern---

Shrewsbury's service pattern is very different on a Sunday to the rest of the week with only Arriva Trains Wales having regular services, there is also 1 service each way between London & Shrewsbury operated by Virgin. London Midland do not serve Shrewsbury on a Sunday.

--Arriva Trains Wales--
Arriva Trains Wales are the main operator at Shrewsbury, their services are as follows;
1tph Manchester Piccadilly - Cardiff Central, with a couple extended to Milford Haven throughout the day. The services are usally non-stop between Crewe and Shrewsbury, however some will stop a local stations as there is no shuttle on a Sunday, they usaully stop every 2-3 hours. This service is operarted Class 175 DMU's or occasional Class 158 or 150 DMU's.
There is also two services each way between Cardiff Central & Holyhead operated by Class 175 DMU's.
1tph Birmingham International - Chester or Aberstywtyh these services alternate every hour between destinations, with services either going to Chester, or to Aberstywyth. Also one Chester service is extended to Holyhead. These are operated by mainly a single or double Class 158 DMU, and sometimes a Class 175 or 150 DMU, with the latter being coupled to a Class 158.
There is also two services each way between Shrewsbury and Swansea via the Heart Of Wales Line, operated by either a Class 150 or 153 DMU.
1tp2h Wolverhampton-Shrewsbury, this service is all stations, and acts as a shuttle, running every two hours. Operated by a Class 150 DMU.

--London Midland--
NO SUNDAY SERVICE

--Virgin Trains (West Coast) --
Virign Trains operated 1 service each way betweeen London Euston and Shrewsbury. using Class 221 DEMU's. These services are an extenstion of the Euston-Wolverhampton services.

--Freight---
There isnt much freight with it being a Sunday, the only freight is an empty timber train returning to Carlisle from Chirk operated by Colas and hauled by a Class 60 locomotive, there are also a couple of steel trains between Margam and Dee Marsh operated by DB Cargo and hauled by a Class 66 locomotive. The Margam - Carlisle Gypsum flow runs late at night also operated by DB Cargo and hauled by a Class 66 locomotive. The only other freight is various engineers trains or track machines travelling to and from posession sites across the county. There is also a MPV running doing Water Jetting,

Hope you enjoy the timetable, please report issuses in the forum post.

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer
