Looking through the NR timetabling rules, the mention of Platform 11x (i.e. the use of the short overlap at signal 223 on P11) states that this facility can only be used from the Leeds Lines, and that "Platform 11x is not available from [...] from the down Main due to there being no short overlap". However, if Simsig is to be believed, this is possible.

On a similar note, it is stated that an up arrival into P10 conflicts with an up departure from P11 (Holgate Sidings excepted), implying that there is no short overlap going towards signal 218 (P10). However, Simsig again shows this as possible on the modern layout, provided that points 786 are keyed reverse (it seems somewhat odd that there is no ROL button for this route?).

Are the timetable writers imagining things that don't exist (it wouldn't be the first time!), or is Simsig giving us more options than real life? These comments obviously only apply to the post-2012 layout.

(Mind, the document also seems to have some interesting ideas about how long the overlap at Signal 217 is, thinking it should extend out as far as Scarboro Bridge Jn when swung that way!)

I can't comment on these particular cases, but I'd take the ROTP with a large pinch of salt. I've found far too many errors in it over the years.

SSI data shows a ROL route to P11 from the main lines. It is feasible that it's been blocked locally, for example with a tech control. Need to get back to you on the other.
