In the pre-2014 era, Huyton Jn is made up of 19A/B and 20A/B points, which operate as linked pairs. With both in the normal position, routes are available between Olive Mount Jn and Rainhill in both directions. With 19 reversed, the Up route to St Helens Central is available, while both pairs of points must be reversed to make the Down route from St Helens available.

The problem is that specifying a route from HN11 to HN16 doesn't work if 19 points are normal at the time. Instead, 20 points are marked as "locked" and I get a message to that effect. To set the route, I have to manually reverse 19 points first, which unlocks 20 points. Since 19 points are "in the route" in any case (as 19B forms half the crossover to the Down line), surely setting the route should be sufficient?

Conversely, if I manually reverse 19, then 20 points, then set 19 points normal again, this is not restricted and I have a route lined from HN11 to HN22, which is what the locking above would appear to be attempting to prevent.

Not that the data version tells you much, it's not unique to each release, you need to delete the sim file and redownload it.

Mantis 15533 for the main bug.
Mantis 15785 for the version number.

Hmm I thought it was just Edge Hill that had that problem.

Chromatix delete the .sim file, and then hit check for updates and you should be good.

Yep, the updated version behaves as I would expect over the junction. The auto-updater didn't pick it up.

It also doesn't have the duplicated "Down Chat Moss" legends, which I saw mentioned in another thread.

The interlocking is working correctly.Lever 19 works 19a/19b, lever 20 works 20a/20b. Manually overriding 19a/19b and/or 20a/20b serves no purpose and could lead up to a dangerous maneouvre.

If you follow the thread you'll actually find the interlocking wasn't working correctly in the version in use originally.

Yes, that's painfully obvious, but how that influences a sim-related bug where certain points weren't being correctly called for a route, I don't know.
