I cannot get trains into Melksham (Thingley to Bradford} on Swindon and Didcot simulation. I notice that this problem existed about 2 years ago and I have to say I had no problem with this when I used this simulation about 2 months ago. Since then I have re-installed this simulation and now I cannot use the loop to Bradford Junction; they go in but they show "at buffer stops" and do not complete the movement to Bradford. I have updated everything and so I cannot understand why this problem has occurred again. Any ideas?

Terry.

What loader version, and sim version are you using.

Press help about in the sim to get these details.

You're using an old version of Swindon & Didcot, the latest is 4.3.0.7. It appears, however, that the Update server doesn't have the latest version available.

Mantis 16496 and #16510 have been raised regarding this (the Westbury version available is also an old one).

I take it therefore that there is nothing I can do to rectify the situation? Interesting that the two simulations I enjoy most (Swindon and Didcot and Westbury) are currently lacking the necessary means to update them.

I don't understand the term "Mantis" and the associated numbers; what does it mean?

Mantis is the name of SimSig's internal bug tracking software (as in Preying Mantis) - the numbers are the ticket numbers for those reported issues. Every entry into Mantis generates a ticket number. It's of little actual use to you, the end user, but demonstrates that it has been reported and will be dealt with in the fullness of time.

Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done until the update is republished to the update server. SimSig has undergone a massive website and server re-design in the last few months, unfortunately some gremlins from that are still being ironed out.

Press check for updates, and you'll find a new version of the simulation available.

I've resolved #16496 and #16510 - I'd not actually noticed them appearing on there.
