Now available is V4.6 of the Loader and Refresher. For those updating to Windows 10 Creators Update this fixes a bug that Windows has either caused or exposed in one of the Delphi standard runtime components. While SimSig was still perfectly usable, it was difficult to work out what the simulation start time was.

The Refresher has a new way of installing updated executable files. This will start working at the next update that includes executable files.

A full list of changes is available here:
https://www.simsig.co.uk/Wiki/Show?page=usertrack%3Ainstall%3Aversions

I have also built a new installer package if you'd rather do that:
www.simsig.co.uk/File/Details/852

In a few days there will be a few simulation updates so check back soon!

Side note: Why is there no apostrophe after Creators?

On the select Timetable screen I am finding some strange behaviour, if you select a timetable the does not have a midnight start ie: 0445 the sim start time seems to add an hour to it, and on starting the sim the sim time would be 0545.

I have looked at a random set and it is mainly those of times other than midnight, although most of cardiff (all), timetables appeare fine except "Cardiff SuO 26 04 2015 0735 Start.WTT" wich displayed on the TT select screen a start time of 0835, see third picture.

The update gave my system indigestion. Running W10 Anniversary Update and all SimSig files stored in a bespoke location in My Documents.

Opened the Loader (v4.5.15 IIRC), red flash on the check for updates button, clicked on that, used the advanced option and saw 3 files to update (Loader, Refresher, RefresherC IIRC). All failed to update.

Downloaded the new installer package and updated from that. Opened the loader which showed v4.6. No red flash over the check for updates button but clicked on it anyway. Again under the Advanced option got 3 files to update (Licence, Refresher, RefresherA IIRC). These updated successfully.

Apologies; I neglected to get the version numbers of the existing files before I clicked to update so can't give full chapter and verse.

Odd. Not disputing what you've found but I can't reproduce that on Windows 10 Creative (mumble mumble) update... :/

Thanks very much for the updated loader v4.6.. Though one question as I'm on Windows 10 Creators (Clean Install) week before released as an update.

I removed the older version of SimSig and freshly installed v4.6

Somehow I've ended up with 2 SimSig Licence Managers in my Start Menu.. Any idea's? maybe just an error?

NOTE: After a restart of the PC it's back to normal just the 1 SimSig Licence Manager

It doesnt say 08 35 it says 8 35 in the boxes and the 0400 says 4 00 ie the format has gone to H:MM

I've checked on the previous loader (4.5.16) and the format and times are correct ie HH:MM along with the correct times

Geoff - Is this format change planned or a bug ??

I cannot reproduce that on either of my machines. Anybody else getting this?

I removed the TDateTimePicker and replaced with two TSpinEdits which IIRC have no formatting options so it only displays as many digits as it needs to. While it's not pretty, it's certainly better than the bug caused by / exposed by Win10C.

Yes, getting this on Widows 7. As per Mark's description, Cardiff TTs are fine except the Cardiff SuO 26 04 2015 0735 Start, which changes to 08:35. The sim starts at 08:35, although when F4 is opened the start time is still shown as 07:35 in the editor.

I've just checked Wolverhampton, Aston, New Street, Saltley, Coventry and the 3 Rugby simulations. All non-midnight start timetables are affected (both supplied and those I created), with the sole exception of a Saltley timetable I wrote.

Found it: it's rounding up anything beyond the half hour instead of truncating. Oops. Stand by for update soon.

Version 4.6.1 now uploaded which fixes the time issue.

Note: you may need to right-click on the SimSigRefresher.exe program and "Run as Administrator" if it says "failed to copy/rename *.exe". I have logged an improvement idea to get it to automatically ask for elevation rather than just fail with error messages.

I had same Issue but I found if you run the loader (not updater) as administrator then check for updates it worked (saved going though program files)

Useful to know, thanks.

I have a solution now (inserting a manifest with the appropriate specifics) but need to test it on more machines.

The old ones will be obsolete in due course. Just want to make sure this replacement will work first.

Did you do the following?

To save going though the program files folders another way is to start the Simsig Loader by running as administrator, then checking for updates it has the same effect as starting the updater with admin privlages.

I had done that for updating from 4.6 to 4.6.1 and it worked fine. but I would advise after the update is compleate that you exit the loader the restart it, with out admin privlages for general use

Start the simsig loader by right clicking and selecting "run as administrator" once loader has started, click check for updates, and it should update, once done and back on loader close it then you can run it as normal
