I have a question on how Defensive Driving rules apply to train approaching signals in sims. From the first attached picture, say the train has passed the yellow and now approaching the next the driving rules say to apprach at 10mph, how ever my question is, the approach next for what signals do or should they apply to, the shunt signals (highlighted in red) or the signals at the end of the platforms (highlighted in pink).

I had been spending a lot of time trying to find out why trains on apprach to that shunt signal were for some reason dropping to 10mph, and I finaly click on that all TT for the sim had defensive driving for those trains, and it was always on approach to that shunt signal (I do not know if others in the sim behave the same with a simular signalling layout of main - shunt - main) Last edited: 24/04/2017 at 18:26 by MarkC Reason: edited Log in to reply |

Geoff To help demostrate, I have created a simple TT with trains running between Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vale Parkway trains 1Axx run with out driving rules trains 1Bxx runs with driving rules driving rules set as default chiltern taken from other sims. watching F2 1Axx run at 30mph up to and passed the shunt signal and 1Bxx run down to 10mph just before the shunt signal and then speed up afterwards. I can also confirm that it happens in the Marylebone station area as well Trains going in to the platforms passing sig 10 with no Defensive Driving rules will travel at 25mph, even passing the shunt signals. However if trains have defensive driving rules trains passing sig 10 in to one of the platforms will slow to 10mph approaching one of the shunt signals (sig 500 for 1 and 2, and sig 502 for 3 to 6) and after passing goes back up to line speed of 25mph. Defensive driving rules are the same ones as shown in picture above and those included with TT from previous post, so the rules have been consistant accross all tests Log in to reply |

I just updated to the latest version of Marylebone and the conditions discribe in earlier posts still apply
