Thanks to John (Postal) and everyone else for organising that made the meet yesterday so enjoyable. Was great to see faces new and old, experience the new sims (cheers James for the mess you left me with at the Picc!) and to hear more of Keith's fascinating stories.

Was fantastic to have some of our Aussie contingent over and would like to thank them not only for the fabulous sims that they have in production, but also with the detailed and in depth explanations they gave throughout the afternoon on the sims and Australian signalling practices.

and of course was great to see Croydon being previewed on a sim again

Gareth

My thanks, too, for all the hard work. Good work by the pub too, given John's warning that they had all new kitchen staff; they did a very good job in difficult circumstances.

You’re welcome to that headache - I’d played it a fair bit in testing thus far; but never seen it that bad!

Did anyone try and fit more than 4 cars into 11 or 12 at Piccadilly?

I'd be surprised if anyone managed it; Piccadilly has Lime St Controls though it can still leave things very tight at times!
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

Not all the signals into the platforms have Lime Street control! Off the top of my head the Engline line certainly doesn't have it.

Not surprised about the holding siding, but then it isn't really a platform.

I've been asked to move closer to signals on a couple of occasions to ensure the system knows I'll fit. Potentially some platforms might not have it - 9 would seem unlikely as it won't know if you want to use the full length or between the blocks and MP390.

I meant the signal from the engine line into the platforms doesn't have Lime Street control. I can understand the need for you to be asked to draw up, there isn't a lot of margin for error with the length of the measuring tracks.

1-10 platforms Lime St control from the main signals but it's not a full implementation so it is rather easy to put something too long into those platforms. 11-12 is slightly different with only one TC and IIRC is even easier to overfill. Neither 13 or 14 have Lime St control.

Thanks to everybody that attended, especially those all the way from Australia. Thanks also to John (Postal) for arranging the event, Karl (Headshot) for organising the sims, John (MELD) and AJ (Kai...etc...) for the timetables, and congratulations to James Pedrick (Pedroathome) for his first simulations.

Excellent meet by the sound of it!

I would like to pass on my thanks to those who organised the London Meet as well as the developers of the Manchester and Hunts Cross simulations: I look forward to the release of those simulations as well as the release of the Australian sims.

Good to see some familiar faces as well.

Dave

Any name to faces please?

Oh goodness, I'm terrible with that sort of thing. But I'll make a start and hope others can fill in the blanks. Looking at the group picture.

Behind and to Andy's left: John Gallon (Postal)
In front of John: Sam Tugwell
Sam's left front, mostly obscured: Dave Harries
Between Sam and Dave: Druey

The two with the same dark shirt with yellow stripes: Damien George (rear) and Matt Smith (MattyQ) (front)
Grey shirt next to Matt: Matt Cooper
Right of Matt: John Mills (MELD)?
Beige polo behind Steve: Clive Feather (Clive)
Black shirt 2nd to Clive's left: Ben Woodward (Sacro)
Behind Ben: Paul Curran (DriverCurran)
Turquoise shirt: Dave McCormick (IrishDave)
Illuminating the ceiling with his hair on far right: James Nelhams (JamesN)

Did anyone collect any pics of the motley crew forcing curry down their faces which can be added to the Wiki?

Missed that one. Hope Croydon comes out sooner or later: IIRC I saw a screenshot of it on a sim that covered part of Three Bridges but that was a few years ago and I hadn't heard anything since.

I think he meant Croydon, Sydney as opposed to the UK Croydon
