Hi All,

I would like to try and host my first sim and have been trying now for a few days with a few friends but for some unknown reason I am unable to create a new game or be able to host, I also sometimes have issues joining games.
can anyone shed some light please as I'm very confused .
I've been told I need to set up port forwarding which I'm also trying to do but cant find sim sig in the list of games.
regards Paul

What problems are you having joining?

You need to set up port forwarding on the ports you wish to use. SimSig usually uses 50505 or 50507, so set up Port Forwarding on those ports. If your router is offering you a list of games, all that does is load in the default ports that those games use- there will be a place to enter your own port numbers.

Where is this 'list of games'?

Please also explain what problems you're having joining games.

Have you checked out this page of the Wiki. At the bottom there are a couple of links to sites that can help you set up your router.

The date time format to use is as follows

YYYY-MM-DD hh:mm

for example if you want to host on friday 24th november at 1900 it would go in as

2017-11-24 19:00

If you type it in It is a MUST that you type in the FULL year ie 2017 not 17

Months and days should also be typed in as 2 digits
January as 01
February as 02 etc

date
first of the month as 01
second of the month as 02 etc

Normally you would select the date ond time from the pop up that comes up, but it can be typed in in the format I described above

I fail to see why you can't click-select the date/time format?

I've had problems with the website not accepting a valid input in the past. There's an open bug (#18501) relating to it.

I know that if I'm trying to edit/set up an upcoming game via my phone, I can NEVER get the date/time to set if I go to edit an already-saved date/time!
