Engineering Works - how to make P1 and P2 not avail to all trains? 24/12/2017 at 11:00 #104405

Time permitting, I would like to create a wtt for the Southampton game even though it is years old but still enjoyable.

How do I make Platform 1 and Platform 2 not available to all trains due to engineering works?

Even if I make another wtt to make route not availabe through the tunnel all way up to the last crossover before St. Denys, how do I do it?

Thanks

Apply reminders to the relevant signals on the lines you don't want to use, and don't send any trains that way.

Loader simulations also allow you to put Engineering highlights on the relevant track circuits; Southampton, given its age, doesn't have this feature.

... and include a description of which tracks precisely should be blocked in the timetable description, so others using your timetable can recreate the possession as well.

Depending on the nature of the possession, you could also add some engineering trains blocking those tracks, although since Southampton doesn't support seeding, either, you'd need to shuffle them into position at the start of the timetable.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Many thanks for the advice, will give it a try. Shame that Southampton is not part of Loader sims even though I thought it would have been possible to do by the makers of this Sim and the Loader.

You could have an engineering train run at 1mph from a siding to the west of the station through the platform and tunnel to the east where it reverses down the other line back to a stabling point. 3 or 4 mutually exclusive trains could do the journey down different lines and/or using different start/reversing/end points.

There is a similar choice of trains on the KX 1985 sim with the extras add-on
