Rugby centre glitches 02/04/2018 at 09:35 #107210

I have been asked to be specific about apparent coding errors I experience in the Rugby Centre sim. Because the loader gets updated frequently, I have run the sim from 04:45 again to avoid suspicion of incompatibility.

I attach demo26.ssg. RY1052 clears improperly. Obviously there is an easy workaround for this; I can simply cancel the improper clearance. Nevertheless this is (as far as I can see) an error in the simulation, and I presume it is appropriate to report it.

Here is the log:

Loader version 4.6.12
Simulation Rugby SCC 3+4 (Centre) data version 1.3
Timetable Rugby SCC Centre 15-10-09 (0445)
Laptop computer running Windows 10.

Log starts at 07:55:30.

2Y59 is just getting the road from Northampton platform 4 to travel towards Rugby via Down Northampton Fast.
1W86 has arrived in the up direction in platform 1 and is attaching to 5W86, which was already there waiting. Nothing else is moving in the vicinity.
ARS is in operation and I am not making any manual interventions except at Rugby and north of Rugby. I have adjusted the faults in F3 so that there will be no infrastructure problems; I always run the Sim that way with trains running out of course but no signal or TC failures.
07:56:21 2Y59 starts moving in the down direction. 5Y00 remains in the platform.

07:57:50 signal RY1052 clears to one yellow without intervention from me. No train is approaching on the Up Line.
07:58:36 signal RY1053 clears to one yellow without intervention from me. The overlap at RY1022 will now prevent 1W86 from getting the road.
At this time 4A27 has just got the road from Rugby platform 6 towards Northampton, but that is 19 signal sections away, with intervening reds at Daventry, and can not be the cause of this.
07:59:53 signal RY1022 now clears to green. Because of automatic signals the road is now set all the way from RY1066 near Long Buckby to HN5304 at Hunsbury Hill Tunnel.
08:04:26 TRTS for 1W86, but platform starting signal cannot clear.

Thank you. I am not quite sure how to "see post 107241", but I'll take your word for it.

I have a slightly different variant of all this; may I mention it here?

Details of Sim version etc as before. Demo 28 attached.

This starts with 1U35 about to set off from Northampton platform 2 in the down direction, and 1U30 in the process of setting off in the Up direction.

5Y10 is waiting in the U&DSL and will shortly call the route to run to platform 1, awaiting the arrival of 2Y10, which will couple to it.

5U32 is in platform 5 and is waiting for 13:59 when it will shunt to the Reception line and platform 1 after the passage of 2Y10.

2Y71 is in platform 3 at Northampton and will from the 13:56 down departure.

2Y20 is just making a station call at Long Buckby.

ARS is in operation and I make no intervention.

At 13:50:39 signal RY1036 clears to a proceed aspect towards the Up Main. No approaching train is calling that route. 2Y10 is nine signal sections away at Long Buckby, and in any case will (later) call the route to platform 1, not to the Up Main.

In F2, 5Y10 is shown as waiting for RA. This usually means it is calling the route, but of course it is standing at GPL RY1222.

As before this is easy enough to work around, although some times it leads to a late departure (if the cancellation is time-delayed and conflicts) or causes a wrongly routed train if it is not noticed in time.

I think Barry's referring to this thread, although they aren't actually duplicate reports.

It would probably be better to keep any other ARS oddities in the simulation to this thread, it makes them easier to keep track of. I've attached a link to the thread to the Mantis report.
