Playing Tyneside 15th October 2009 (0000 start). This is really a question about simplifiers, as the platform conflict is confirmed in the posts below, which I have included in case it helps somebody in future. I’ve got to approximately 08.50 and have 2N08 approaching Newcastle from the Carlisle line destined for platform 6 which is already occupied by 1V86. As 1V86 is scheduled to depart for Northallerton at 09.35 and the 2N08 next working 2N29 is scheduled to depart for Carlisle at 13.26, I obviously can’t put it into P6 because it would block the departure of 1V86. I therefore decided to divert it to platform number 8 which no doubt will cause further conflicts later. I then found this post in the Newcastle Timetable section of the Forum Index which confirms the platform conflict: “2N08 is booked into Newcastle p6 at 0855 and it then sits there until 1326 when it departs as 2N29. This gets in the way of quite a lot of trains, so is this an error in the timetable? Kev” The response was: “No, it’s as per the NR WTT so the signallers have to figure out on a daily basis what is best to do with the train.” One suggestion was to store 2N08 in the Forth branch. I might do that in another game. However, now comes the strange bit. I couldn’t find either the arrival of 2N08 or the departure of 2N29 anywhere in the simplifier for Newcastle. However, 2N29 did appear in the simplifier for the Metro Centre at the time stated in its’ timetable after it left Newcastle. I re-opened my 08.40 save to see where 2N08 was at that time and I could see it at the Metro Centre awaiting its’ departure time of 08.44, but it doesn’t appear in the simplifier there either. Am I miss-reading the simplifiers? Attached are my 08.40 and 08.50 saves so that someone can check the simplifiers. Great sim by the way. Can just about get by as a single player with only Newcastle, Durham and Darlington ARS turned off and occasionally adjusting the speed if it gets too busy.
