I added the additional timetables downloaded from here but it fails to show up in the menu. I notice that there is a difference between the downloaded timetables (a text file) and the supplied timetable (ZIP file containing two XML files). Hope someone here can help clarify :)

- and yes I'm an Ubuntu user.

I had a similar problem with some Kings Cross timetables a little while ago.

Yes, some older format timetables are still in the downloads section.

To convert: start a new empty game, and import using the timetable menu. This procedure will also import the WTR timetable rules file at the same time, if alongside the WTT. The new timetable can then be saved, at which point it will begin appearing in the loader.

You'll need to manually copy over the name, description and starting time. (I usually do this by opening the old WTT file up in a text editor and copying the readable portion out of the surrounding junk characters).
Some older timetables may not be 100% compatible with later releases of Sims, so tweaks may be required in places.
