A new £14m railway extension has been unveiled in Buxton which will boost productivity in the UK construction sector.
Network Rail has transformed a disused council tip into 430 metres of railway sidings so longer freight trains can serve local quarries.
The Great North Rail Project investment means freight firms DB Cargo and Freightliner can now increase their number of wagons on each train from 18 to 26.
This allows up to 2,500 tonnes of stone to be transported during each load, providing a boost to UK building projects and the environment.
Each freight train takes 76 lorries off local roads and every tonne of freight carried by rail cuts carbon emissions by 76%.

I'm wondering it this upgrade would be place into the sim? Given that the loop is now 430m in both roads plus headshunt would be around 25m?

The run round loop at Buxton already is 430m in the sim and has been from the outset (Which I believe is where this is referring to)

Ah now I didn't check the manual before I posted the above about the loop lengths. But yes this is where the current Arrival Road and Run Round Roads are.
Before I could reply my internet went off so a bit late...

Hi, from what I've seen on the internet the upgrade started in 2018 and completed this year extended the sidings by 430m, over a council landfill, to increase train capacity from 1750 tonne to 2600 tonne. The arrival road can now accomodate a 2600 tonne train, possibly dual hauled if cl 66, up to 548m long. There's a Network Rail Environmental Statement and letter to the planning authority confirming these numbers readily available online.

What do you mean as there's not much context? If you mean the release then it doesn't have one. It's free to work at all times.
