Put the timetable data in, then press validate and it comes up alright. Problem is it forces the timetable to go James St, Moorfields, Central, Lime Street, James Street. Not the correct order.

Are you using non-zero times?

Daft question are all the timings correct? If one has been entered wrong the timetable will sometimes force them into chronological order showing them out of order.

I've just tried a timetabling a train around the loop with non-zero times and it validates correctly, with the stations in the correct order.

You might have hit the nail on the head, I suspect in the OP example the Lime Street time is incorrectly later than the Central time.

A timetable, or save game containing the problematic timetable is always helpful to let us diagnose issues.

Had a look and re-entered the same data in a separate new train bit with a new headcode, and this worked. It seems that the first time I did it, it threw a wobbly. Have deleted all the saved data and then started again and they are now sticking.
