15-10-09 0000 & 0445 TT's - 5E55/5M55 Attachment Doesn't Work 03/06/2019 at 23:55 #118716 | |

Running both of the above TT's for the first time, I have found that the attachment of 5M55 to 5E55 doesn't work. 5E55 arr Huddersfield 0606, shown to attach 5M55 and form 2F77 0657 Hudd - Southport. 5M55 arr Huddersfield from Aces Sdg at 0618, DF 2M55 (0629 Hudd Mcr Vic) then attach to 5E55. From this it will be seen that Pfm.4 has the following lineup from 4A to 4B - 5M55, 2M55, 5E55. 2M55 (booked dep 0629) is between the two units that are booked to attach to form 2F77 (booked dep 0657). I'm surprised this hasn't been picked up on sooner, or at least if it has a search isn't picking anything up. Two more questions - 5M55 is a 4-car 142, 5E55 is a 2-car 156. Can 142's couple to 156's? If so did they ever work service trains formed of 142 + 156? Regards, Phil. Last edited: 04/06/2019 at 00:01 by Phil-jmw Reason: None given Log in to reply |

142s can couple to 156s. It's not unheard of on the Cumbrian Coast even today EDIT Logged on Mantis 25278 "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Last edited: 04/06/2019 at 08:34 by headshot119 Reason: Mantis Ticket Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Phil-jmw |

all 15x's can couple to 142/3/4's and also to 170's you still get 142's and 150's coupled a lot around Leeds and Sheffield. "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Phil-jmw |
