Not sure why this happens if anyone can explain please but when you start the simulation up with this timetable at a time other then the default midnight start, the trains do not seed eg I've tried multiple times to select a 04:00 start instead at start up but no trains seed however if I revert back to the 00:00 start then all trains seed. Why is this please? Surely the simulation should be able to seed the trains whatever the start time you pick for the timetable? Log in to reply |

I'm pretty sure the station is just empty at that time. There's nothing that needs to be seeded. It could be asked why the seed group exists at all in that case, but it's probably for compatibility with chaining sim seed times, and the groundhog day timetable standards as a whole.

The core piece of information is the start time for the grouping and the trains due to seed at that time are a consequence of the start time chosen. The centrally created TTs have a standard set of TT start, 04:00 and 14:00 start times. The reason for having an 04:00 TT'd start time even if there are no trains in sim is to take account of the fact that there could well be trains due to enter after the reference time that have entry governed by rules from other trains before the reference time. For example a train in the 00:00 reference group may leave the sim before 04:00 but then a second train formed out of the first train enters after 04:00. The TT writer takes account of this when setting up the TT and rules.
