A thought I had today when dealing with the 6O47 bug in Three Bridges (which I know has a known fix). The "Extreme measures" menu obviously allows you to do things impossible in real life in order to get out of a stuck situation and allow you to continue the sim, usually a situation where there's a bug either in the sim or the timetable.

However, when I used "adjust length" I'm assuming the length is being adjusted from the wrong end of the train, as it still fouled the track circuit. However, I can't move the train to get it behind the track circuit because at this point the loco is detached.

If there were an "add engine" option in "Extreme measures" though I could of course add a fake engine to get the train moved!

raised on mantis as 0027692 - seems like a sensible idea for situations like this.

the length comes off the back of the train normally.

I'm pretty sure that the issue only occurs in the 0000 start, and yes it has been addressed for the next update.

If however you can't wait for the update all you have to do is change the stopping position of 6O47 to FX as opposed to the NX position .

Apologies to you all for this one - while testing for the original release I was playing around with the stopping positions and this re-edit slipped through the net

Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!!

Yeah, no problem, I'm a software guy myself so I know how easily mistakes can slip through even if you're sure you've tested everything thoroughly — I just thought a useful new feature could come from my experiences with this!

Putting the feature request to one side, I would have thought using "shunt forward" and/or "reverse direction" would have gotten around the immediate problem, depending at what stage you did it. A few versions back we allowed joins to take place even if only one train was "at" the location.

Couldn't use "shunt forward" and "reverse direction" because the train didn't have an engine since it had just detached! Just reported "No Engine" in the status field when I tried. In the end I just went back to an older save game but it's always annoying having to do that...

I read it as the loco was back on the north end but straddling the northbound signal, but now realise you may have meant it hadn't even come off the south spur. Sorry.
