Hi all,

I've had quite some time away from SimSig, probably a good 8 or 9 years.

Most of my time away was due to having no reasonable set up in order to play SimSig. I spent a few years renting rooms in Birmingham and Essex getting by using a bit of a rubbish TV as my PC monitor.

I've recently moved into my own house with my partner and finally have a desk and a proper computer setup again!

I'm glad to be back.

Hoping to play a few multiplayer games to get back into it, and then I might consider hosting a few of my own. I remember my KX hosts used to attract a few faces back in the day! We are imminently expecting our first child, so this might not be for a little while, but we'll see!

As some of you may remember, I wrote some unofficial software for SimSig all those years ago, namely The Fiddle Yard (a primitive version of today's Launcher - to this day I still reckon Geoff knicked my idea ), and the Unofficial SimSig Layout Designer. Neither of these are available any more, but I have progressed significantly in my software development career and I hope I may be of some use to the SimSig team if they may want it? I have no idea if SimSig is still written in Delphi or not!

Anyway, good to be back and I look forward to sigging with you soon!

Welcome back, and I guess some congratulations is also due for the little manadude to come. Just remember, you'll spend 18 months teaching them to walk and talk, then the following 18 years telling them to shut up and sit down

Welcome back to the community Manadude2. Do what I done and have a crib next to your comp. The first year or so was grand....now... well. 3 turning 16. It's all fun.

I did similar when Liam was a newborn. His mum went to bed after the 2100 or so feed and I stayed up half the night playing computer games in between feeding him

Welcome back. Now I know who to thank for that layout designer. I did download it at the time but subsequently lost it. However someone else kindly passed it to me by email as I couldn't download it from the SimSig website.

I have had much fun with it which has included doing a mockup for the Wilton Junction to Pinhoe route.

Thanks all!

Dave, I might be tempted to re-create the layout designer if there's enough interest. The first version was extraordinarily basic.
