Unlike most other through trains, KTT train have a locomotive on both ends, thus eliminates the need to turn the locomotive around at Hung Hum. However I'll take it if you argue that you picked the exact day when it runs on only one locomotive while the other is under maintenance...

I wasn't aware of this (I did know they didn't have to stop at Lo Wu to pick up or drop a pilot). When I saw international trains they only had one loco, but I didn't notice which specific services they were.

Mantis 31184 raised.

Thanks very much.

SS9g0045 is correct - the normal configuration for KTT train is indeed loco on both ends, unless one of the two locos is under maintenance. Trains operated by Chinese Railways always have loco at leading end only - usually there is one loco, although there are rare exception where there will be two loco in series.
KTT trains with one loco is a rather rare sight - it probably occurs once or twice a year and will be announced well in advance, unless of course if there is a unplanned failure.
