Been playing the 2006 timetable, and came across a few oddities...

Firstly, 6S62 was timetabled to conduct a crew change in platform 1 in Edinburgh. Being slightly daft, I let it in way too early... Set a route through to 19 to allow it to draw forwards to avoid it overhanding the lines in rear. The train took the road all the way into 19, and phoned that it was waiting at the red... despite being booked to stop and conduct a crew change.

Next, 5A41 came into P1 - it's due to reverse and go round the sub before coming back into the station from the west. ARS set the road on the TRTS as expected, but the train didn't move... F2 showed it stepping between locations (Abbeyhill, Craigentinny etc.) but the train never moved an inch... I've attached the savegame for this oddity.

Finally, when reconstructing the incident (because like a schmuck I forgot to get a save) I got an internal error (separate savegame)...

It's not been a good day!

I'm guessing the 6S62 problem is something to do with the way that the v5 loader handles stopping positions. There is a revised version of the Edinburgh sim under test which addresses one or two recent issues which may solve that problem. In the meantime there is no need to run 6S62 through as the rear of the train is clear of any fouling points when it stops in P1 in any event.

5A41 is a known bug. It was fixed in various versions of the v4.x loader but the change to v5 has unfortunately revived the problem. There is an updated version of the 2006 TT ready to be released when the sim update is published which splits the 5A41 TT and (hopefully) resolves the problem.

Thanks for taking the time to write things up but with any luck the fixes should already be in hand.

Edit: Forgot to add that the fudge for 5A41 is to wait until it is ready to move off from The Waverley then abandon the TT; put it back on TT after it passes Abbeyhill Jn and it should work OK on the current sim/loader.

Another bugbear might hit you a bit later. 5Z01 (route-learner that shuttles up and down the suburban lines all day) is confusing the ARS using the v5 loader and ARS wants it to reverse at Niddrie when it is due to go through towards Craigentinny so there is R in front of it and G behind it. Needs manual intervention from the signaller to nudge it along. Again fixed in the updated TT.

Hold 6S62 outside Edinburgh, short of Monktonhall Junction, until its time catches up with it. Anything else, and you'll get into the bind you have described.

The internal error looks like the one referred to here:
https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/52373
to do with the timetable pop up and trains changing state/location

Do you know if you were using Loader 5.7 or 5.8 at the time ?
5.8 was expected to have fixed it but as a random thing it is not possible to know for sure.

Misinformation. There are a couple of other Scottish sims under test rather than Edinburgh. These sims have revised TTs to align to the sim changes. In addition the revised TTs include a couple of train changes as more information about the 2006 period has come to light. As those TTs fringe with TTs for the other Scottish sims and the train changes carry over, there is a full suite of TTs ready to roll out once those other sims are released. The Edinburgh TT update includes the revisions to 5A41 and 5Z01 noted earlier in this discussion.

I was using v5.8 at the time - it was the last sim I played, and opening the loader now shows it as 5.8 without updating or anything.
