Early southbound to Kingmoor 20/12/2020 at 14:43 #134953

I have been looking into this for the last two days
All my southbound services :
pass Quintinshill at least five minuntes early
pass Floriston at least five minutes early
As a result a Lockerbie service arrives 10 minutes early, and a Dumfries 5 minutes early

Read :

Has anyone found a solution?

I wondering if...
Ignore the description of "Lockerbie" completely, and retime all services to pass Lockerbie less 10 minutes later
Ignore the description of "Dumfries" completely, and retime all services to pass Dumfries less 5 minutes later

I did think about changing the train performance, then realised it did not matter what type of train it was and was about the locations and the times / distances between them

Oddly the northbound services do not suffer from this (although once they have exited at Gretna or Kirkpatrick I tend to ignore them)

that thread us out of date as southbound trains do actually enter at Lockerbie now rather than Kirkpatrick.

Id recheck your timings against WTT along with the trains speed and acceleration. A bit of give in the timetable is normal but this does seem exceptional.

I have been watching every train as it accelerates from stop to about 50mph
It does seem rather excessive in both directions, about 1mph per second

Northbound it is not an issue
As an example
Train departs Lockerbie 01:00:00
30 seconds later it is at 30mph
60 seconds later is is at 60mph
