Warrington PSB & Wigan Wallgate have both been released today (22/12/2020)

Warrington PSB covers it's namesake (3 panels), as well as the small signal boxes at Astley, Eccles, and Arpley Junction. It's a manageable one player simulation for most users, but also provides plenty of multiplayer opportunity for 3 - 4 players. The provided timetables both provide significantly different service patterns to each other.

Wigan Wallgate covers it's namesake, as well as the signal boxes at Rainford Junction. Parbold, and Burscough Bridge Junction. It is an ideal simulation for all skill levels, and gives plenty of opportunity for adding on a small area to the adjacent simualtions it chains to in multiplayer.

Both of these simulations chain together, and they also chain with existing simulations surrounding them.

Warrington PSB Manual

Wigan Wallgate Manual

And at the time of writing don't forget the discount code MULTIBUY if purchasing two simulations together

They can be found via the check for updates feature, or by right clicking on the sim in your V5 loader and right clicking to install them.

In Addition

Simulation updates for Manchester Piccadilly, Hunts Cross, Edge Hill, and Huyton have all been released. Including 2015-04-08 timetables for the latter two allowing a full chain across the North West simulations*.

* Manchester North still requires work to provide the later era to support the Ordsall Chord, we hope to release this in early 2021.

In regards to other forum discussions around a pending loader update, the team are working hard to bring this to you, but we want to ensure it's fully tested before a public roll out.

Minor thing. In the Chaining section of the Warrington manual should the two Huyton fringes be at Lea Green/Rainhill & St Helens Central rather than Huyton & St. Helens Central?

Thankyou, yes it should, now corrected.

BRILLIANT! One of the classic "Glasgow Extension" panel boxes I recall well from my youth. I can foresee some timetable writing over coming weeks.

Really hoping for an 80s/90s one so I can relive my youth (born and raised in the area)

I think that should be possible at some point! 1977 first though. When I still possessed hair and a waist.

Cool, should have trains coming out of Bickershaw in that era, right?

Indeed, but very few in the working timetable. I suspect coal trains of the era may have run as "control specials". I shall ask someone who used to be involved in that sort of thing way back.

What does "(And updates in the North West)" mean in the title of the topic? Updates to neighbouring sims to make chaining possible?

This is a very good question bear with me! (I'm sure I've written it out somewhere but it's not in the opening post)

EDIT

I've added the missing paragraph to the opening post. There's a full changelog for all of the updated simulations on the Wiki, aside from chaining compatibility there's been bug fixes and more.

Hats off to All The Developers for this being how long ago the manchester chain feels, these are 2 incredible new simulations, and can't wait to purchase & play them! Thanks to all involved! :D

These sims also complete the entire ATW Premier Sets in SimSig plus all but the Preston & Crewe Routes of Northerns intensive Operations around Manchester are now complete! I'll have to plan a session to include these in the future!

Bickershaw, Parkside and Liverpool Docks. Almost all of the trains out of them are Trip workings and won't appear in the WTT. only about half the trains into Fiddlers ferry are WTT, the rest are trips. The only trip notice I have is 1992 which if I ever have the spare time, I might do a timetable for.

That could technically go via Manchester South and Staffordshire?

We don't often see pendolinos going through P14 and on to Manchester Oxford Road - for good reason :-)

That'd be cool, I've only ever seen them go through once last year as the bolton lines were electrified, do all VT/AWC Drivers have route knowledge vi Picc & Bolton?

I'm not sure if all depots sign it; though Preston and Liverpool certainly do. There are regular ECS moves to Longsight via Piccadilly, and it's been a fairly common weekend diversion for services from Lime St to run via Manchester (and Scotland-London services during the two week Acton Grange blockade last year).
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

A lot of the time it is only the more 'local' based crews that get to keep the knowledge. So it will be some but not all.
IIRC Polmadie do not go south of Preston, and doubtful how many Londoners would do Bolton or Parkside (hope I am wrong there).
A lot of the time the route knowledge trains (public or ECS) are the last / first of the day, hence favouring local crews. That is often the cause of the limited diversionary services.

390 with Longsight crews via Parkside and Oxford Road daily

Some (possibly all) of those early/late ECS are definitely Preston jobs (which keeps the taxi companies happy!) which is why I'm not entirely sure if Piccadilly crews sign that way as they don't ordinarily go to Preston or Lime St.

Add Preston and Crewe and all of my route card will be simulated (Hazel Grove and New Mills technically not available at present, but have been).
