Me and three friends are doing a full run through of the Summer 2019 timetable on Kings Cross to raise a bit of money for the Samaritans on Saturday 30th January, aiming to start between 8/9am and finish about midnight. We will have a high rate of faliures and the others are fairly novice when it comes to simsig. You can donte to us using the Just Giving page below and we hope to have a twitch stream of the sim so you can watch the mayhem unfold. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/simsig-challenge?fbclid=IwAR20Er9fJf6MYwDwiRtmqmjBv7cL6eCxUrjTP5bNpZ2WIIlNEDkx8HqjtYI Log in to reply The following users said thank you: postal, y10g9, WesternChampion, Stephen Fulcher, welshdave257, Gwasanaethau |

Just a quick note to say that Trainfan344 approached SimSig before making this post. They're doing this for a good cause, and it's a charity that's very close to the railway. Remember, especially at times like this if you do ever need to talk to someone, the Samaritans are always there on 116 123. "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Log in to reply The following users said thank you: postal, y10g9, Trainfan344, JamesN, Stephen Fulcher, markt, whatlep, as1981, danners430, welshdave257, Gwasanaethau, flabberdacks |

Quite a coincidence this. My wife's best friend works for the Samaritans. She mentioned how much the Covid-19 situation has affected their fundraising as they haven't been able to do their usual "tin-rattling" fund raising activities. Every year we donate to charities instead of spending the money on Christmas cards and postage which is much more satisfying than writing countless numbers of cards and envelopes. This year we donated to our local branch of the Samaritans. Having said that, I'll also donate to this fundraising effort. Hope that you get lots of dosh. Good luck :D Edit: Donation done ![]() Your life can have a thousand different meanings or maybe just one....I'd recommend more than one in case you got it wrong - (Rezende) Last edited: 08/01/2021 at 17:07 by bugsy Reason: None given Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Trainfan344 |

Thanks to everyone who's donated so far and for the messages of support, we've been doing some warm up sessions, safe to say it's not gone well for commuters into Kings Cross.

In normal times my wife and I write and deliver four quizzes a year for the local Friends of the Samaritans. You're right that it's an excellent cause, so thank you for doing this. I'll be supporting you.

We'd like to say thank you to everyone who's donated so far, we're blown away by the ammount raised, with it now standing around £250. We've been doing a dry run of Kings Cross which as expected has ended up with trains running over 6 hours late and a riot in the Kings Cross Waitrose. A week out from our challenge, we're on West Hampstead tonight for more chaos and hell. I started playing Simsig about 2 weeks prior to the posting of this challenge, so a bit of a learning curve for me. I decided to have a play on No Exit To Alrewas a couple of days ago. Safe to say, one service ran 26 hours late. One week to go, your donations so far have been wonderful and have obliterated our original target so a big thank you from us all. Though I'm reminded of one day where things really were that bad for some reason and everything was turning round at Finsbury Park. I had been chatting to another commuter while we waited for the train and he ended up sitting next to me. I pulled out my laptop to look at KX to remind myself of the layouts ... at which point I discovered he was an HMRI inspector. Log in to reply |
