Hi all,

Does anyone know what these signals are for. I pass them semi-regularly and I am sure they are always unlit. It's been bugging me for years, but a recent trip has reminded me of them.

They are on the Up Filton, after Lawrence Hill.




Any ideas?

Set Back indicators into the sidings that were off the Up Filton (Barrow Road RTS?)

They were for backing into Barrow Road Refuse Transfer

Would I be right in thinking that I've seen some of these signals erected at Castle Cary station as well? If not here, I've seen them somewhere

There used to be one on the ECML Up Slow just south of Stevenage. I think it was by the big electrification cabinet just south of Langley Jn. That's about 400m south of the turnout for Lafarge Aggregates, so that's plausible.
